Dear Willard Families,
Thank you all for a great start to the 2014 – 2015 school year! Beside the expected few “hiccups,” things have gone very smoothly. Each day I walk throughout the school and I am happy to report a lot of smiling students and teachers! Students are engaged in meaningful lessons and activities and are learning the routines of their new classroom.
On the very first day of school, all staff and students came together to celebrate what makes Willard so special. Students enjoyed watching a video of the Willard Panther visiting me this summer at school and teaching me the "Willard Way." The Panther showed me how Willard students use good manners, play safely, and are kind to others. All students also heard the book, “The Golden Rule,” by Ilene Cooper. Classes discussed how people all over the world follow this important rule, and that if we all treat each other the way we would want to be treated, we will have a fantastic school year!
I hope to see all of you at the Back to School Movie Night on Friday!
All the Best,
July 24, 2014
Dear Willard Families and Friends,
I hope your summer is off to a fabulous start and you are finding time to do everything on your summer bucket list!
One of the highlights of my summer so far has been moving in to Willard! I am so excited to be the new Principal. As I walk through the building, I can already see that Willard is a very special place.
Though it is lonely without all of the students here, there is still a lot going on! The custodians are hard at work cleaning every nook and cranny of the building to make it sparkle for September. The gym is getting a fresh coat of paint and the lunchroom is getting a needed face lift with new, smooth walls and ceiling, and even a “window” for students to pick up their lunch like a real restaurant! The most exciting project, though, is the new playground that is being installed! I can’t wait to see it completed. A special thank you to the HSA for this incredible gift!
I look forward to meeting everyone on the first day of school, September 4th:
AM Kindergarten 8:35 AM - 11:20 AM
PM Kindergarten 12:20 PM - 3:00 PM
Grades 1 - 5: 8:35 AM - 12:45 PM (No lunch!)
All the Best,
Mrs. Caroline Hoffman
